Step 2: Locate and Install Scorbitron¶
Choose Location¶
Identify the location you wish to mount your Scorbitron. While not required, we recommend the Scorbitron be placed near the top of your [machine_type] machine. The following illustration can be used as guidance for a [machine_type], though anywhere in the backbox will do:
Choose Mounting Method¶
The Scorbitron is a lightweight, low voltage device. It doesn't generate any meaningful heat or draw significant power. Therefore, methods of mounting are entirely up to you. We recommend two methods to get your device secured.
Method 1: Use Existing Screw¶
The most popular way of mounting a Scorbitron is using an existing screw in the backbox.
Secure to Existing Wire Harness¶
You can slide a strap through the small, flat opening at the top of the Scorbitron to hold it onto an existing harness. The advantage of this is that you do not require using backbox real estate, but the disadvantage is it can provide slightly more strain on what the harness is ultimately connected to. We recommend using a location that is near a cable strain relief cable management connection already screwed into the backbox.
